Old homes & buildings present unique challenges and require a niche set of skills when making improvements. I provide preservation- minded design recommendations that consider the individualized needs of you and your home- whether DIY or hiring out.​

Just as a thoughtfully curated home is made of layers that reflect the uniqueness of the space and the people who live there, design is a process that is both layered and personalized.  I promote leaning into making your space your own, with a holistic approach to home improvements- working with, not against, the buildings' character. With an appreciation for architecture and craftsmanship, Vintage Walnut Design puts emphasis on preserving & elevating both.

I provide the knowledge and tools my clients need to make design decisions with clarity and confidence.  Color & design consulting can provide the best blend of collaboration & customized advice to get you unstuck & loving your space. This allows you to execute changes over time, as budget & schedule allows or have support in real-time as a project progresses. 

I am so glad I worked with Lisa before painting our Lake House.  I went from feeling overwhelmed & unable to get started, to feeling confident about my plan.  She took the time to understand the aesthetic I wanted, but I was most impressed by how she made sure the whole house felt cohesive – even the addition that had always felt like an awkward/ disconnected space.  It’s cliché to say paint transforms a space, but the right paint definitely does!  I absolutely love the results, and I’m not sure I would have had the confidence to move forward without Lisa’s guidance
